AL MAUN - NEIGHBORLY NEEDS
Sisters United in Human Service, Inc. initiated a Feed the Homeless and Hungry Program in 1999. It was one of the Organization’s first community outreach programs. Each week, teams that include members of the Organization and volunteers, prepare healthy, halal meals and serve those who are in need through the sustained efforts of six (6) feeding teams. These teams are supported by approximately fifty (50) volunteers. The Organi zation purchases the meats and paper goods for each feeding. Team members donate drinks and prepare vegetables. Our breads and pastries are donated by the Panera Bread Company. W ith this combined effort, balanced and nutritious meals are served each Sunday of the month. Over the years, the number of meals served has fluctuated. This pattern is significantly influenced by the increased presence of feeding services from other faith-based organizations and charitable agencies as they also respond to these needs. We see this as a very positive indicator of growing concern for meeting the needs of those individuals SUIHS, Inc. also strives to serve. With God's help we are able to feed hundreds of people monthly. Your continued help and support enables us to further our reach to those in need on a continuous basis. Click on the button below to make a donation.
